Charles Cowling, Managing Director
Charles Cowling has over 20 years’ experience in the actuarial profession. Before joining Pension Capital Strategies in 2006, Charles was a worldwide partner at Mercer Human Resource Consulting and had many varied roles in his nearly 22 years there. He has acted as principal actuarial adviser to several FTSE100 companies and their pension schemes and in particular has worked with a number of major companies assisting them to manage, monitor and reduce their global pension scheme risks. Charles is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries, a member of the Council of the Institute of Actuaries and is currently Honorary Secretary of the Institute of Actuaries.
Peter Redhead, Managing Director
Peter Redhead trained and qualified as an actuary in 1990 with Bacon & Woodrow and Noble Lowndes (now part of Mercer) and joined Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group (JLT) in 1995. He served as Managing Director of JLT's pension administration, consulting and actuarial businesses from 1997 until the end of 2005, during which time the business grew eightfold. In early 2006, Peter became Managing Director of Pension Capital Strategies and headed the launch of the new business providing broad financial advice and solutions to companies and investors relating to their defined benefit pension obligations.
Antony Barker, Managing Director
Antony leads JLT's corporate investment advisory service delivering advice and cross-market solutions for managing financing, assets and liabilities in funding and decommissioning pension funds.
Antony serves on the Government's Nuclear Liabilities Financing Assurance Board set up to assess the financial arrangements to meet the costs of decommissioning and waste management.
Formerly Global Head of Pension Advisory at BNP Paribas and Head of Investment Services at Deloitte, previous assignments include restructuring of the UN's pension funds and investment management service, secondment to DWP on establishing the PPF, advising the Lord Chancellor on personal damages claims and WH Smith's pension derivatives transaction
David Bor, Head of IAS19/PPF Services
David Bor has over 20 years experience in the actuarial profession. He joined Pension Capital Strategies in 2007 having previously worked at KPMG, Refuge, Bain Clarkson, Clay & Partners and Royal Life. His varied career has included advising trustees and companies on their pension arrangements together with several trustee appointments. David is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries and also a member of the Association of Consulting Actuaries Audit Committee.
Tiziana Perrella, Head of Buyout Services
Tiziana Perrella is an actuary and consultant based in the Manchester office. Prior to joining PCS in 2008 Tiziana worked at Mercer for 10 years, and was involved in a variety of roles advising both sponsors and trustees of defined benefit and defined contribution arrangements. Tiziana has significant experience of wind ups (solvent and insolvent) and was jointly responsible for developing a centre of excellence for wind up work, including drafting detailed process specification and standard materials.
Rob Dales, Director
Rob Dales is an experienced Scheme Actuary having acted as Scheme Actuary for over 50 schemes in the last 10 years. He has extensive experience in assisting clients with the more complex aspects of pension arrangements including Scheme Funding, dealing with the Pensions Regulator and the pensions implications of corporate transactions. Rob joined JLT in 2007 having previously worked at KPMG, Higham Group, Ernst & Young, DA Budge & Co. and WF Corroon. Rob has held a Scheme Actuary certificate since 1997 and is a member of the Institute of Actuaries, Association of Consulting Actuaries and the NAPF. He has written several articles which have been published in the Financial Times, Pensions World, Yorkshire Business Insider and Professional Pensions and is also co-author of ?An Introduction to Pensions?, published by Gee.
